It's a Family Affair

Uncle Donald is da bomb. All the ladies at the retirement home where he lives tell us so. He's cheerful and kind and always happy to see us when we come to visit. Donald's 86, as best we can figure, a veteran who fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He's just about as deaf as can be...he carries a little note pad and pen so it's easier to communicate with him these days. It doesn't seem to slow him down one iota.

And the cool tennies...they're da bomb too.

Uncle Donald loves family. He never married. He was one of eight children, including my mother-in-law. He's got plenty of nieces, nephews and their kids too to call family. Outside the door to his room, he has proudly displayed photos of many of his (and our) collective family. Yup, Uncle Donald is one cool cat and we love him.

He looks like a great guy. Is he related to your hubby? I think I see a bit of resemblance there...
